TRAVEL BUG

LIV | TRAVEL BUG (2026)

30 × 40 inches | Original Mixed-Media Painting

Created live at the 2026 Black Travel Summit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this vibrant portrait explores the beauty, complexity, and vulnerability of Black identity.

Through bold color, exaggerated features, layered textures, and playful abstraction, LIV explores the many emotions we carry and the ways we experience the world. Multiple eyes, expressive lines, and a single tear reflect the duality of being seen while remaining misunderstood.

Rooted in LIV’s ongoing exploration of grief, identity, and Black expression, this work celebrates the freedom to exist in many forms at once. LIV encourages you to be joyful, exhausted, colorful, and vulnerable without explanation.
