I Don't Have 50 Stars To Give

This was the first piece I created in my "Grief in America" series when working on my exhibition: When Snowbanks Were Mountains. I approached grief in America like any black woman would. With exhaustion, terror and a bubble of pain that floats around you discreetly but load. I wanted to depict the pride in Blackness, new to glitter it only seemed right. It is the space in-between pride of culture and exhaustion.

We have much to grieve.

Exciting news! This will be my first print on canvas. This feels more authentic to my real work and will feel like what I create on as opposed to paper.

Each piece will be different in character as glitter will be added to each piece! :)
